Privacy Policy As of 11/2/2007

TL;DR

The skinny: we collect a bit of your personal information...but we protect it and won't share it. If you don't believe us, read on!

We at Yaperture are committed to protecting your privacy while at the same time providing you with the best service possible. The purpose of this policy is to let you know what information we collect and how we use it. By using this site, you agree to let us collect and use certain information as described below.

What do You Want Already?

You may browse the site as an anonymous user, however once your choose to register with the site (good decision), we will request a few things from you including, but not limited to, your name and email address. When you place an order (another good decision, you're on a roll), we'll get a bit more personal: we'll get need your mailing address, your billing address, a phone number, and credit card information. Note: your credit card information WILL NOT be stored with us, but instead with a third party vendor (Authorize.net).

We will also collect information about your visit: which pages you accessed, when you access them, links you click, etc. We do use cookies (small text files stored on your computer by the web server so that it can latter be used by the domain that issued it to you). You have the ability in your web browser to accept or decline cookies. What it boils down to: we will collect user information; however we will not collect any information about you or your activities except that which is needed for the site administration.

What do You Do With It?

We use this information solely to complete transactions with you and enhance the performance/features of the site. We will not sell/share your information unless it is reasonably necessary in order to (i) comply with the law (ii) enforce/apply the terms or any user agreement or (iii) protect the rights, property, or safety of Yaperture or its users.

What about Email?

We hate spam. In fact, we tend to get too many emails as it is. Therefore, we won't send you that many. Here's the rundown:

1. When you register, we'll send you an endearing welcome email to let you know how much we love you
2. If your photograph is voted up enough to be sold, we'll let you know the good news via email
3. We'll send you a confirmation email when you buy something
4. We may send you the occasional email letting you know of a certain contest or promotion, however you can opt out of these by following the link in the email.

How do you Plan on Protecting My Information?

We protect your information using Secure Socket Layers (SSL) which encrypts sensitive information you input. However, it is your responsibility to keep your password confidential. In other words: don't share it with anyone!

Other Stuff

We may occasionally update/change our Privacy Policy without notifying you. If we feel it is something important, we'll let you know. However, it is your responsibility to check back for any updates (you'll know the latest version by the 'As of' date at the top of the page).
